Samsung Galaxy S24 to return to Exynos 2400 high-end chips

For years, Samsung has been using a dual flagship model in terms of mobile phone chips. This means that it uses its in-house Exynos chips for its flagships along with Snapdragon. While the Snapdragon models are released in China, the US, and other large markets, the Exynos models go to Europe and parts of Asia. However, Samsung’s self-developed Exynos 2300 will no longer be used in the Galaxy S23 series of flagship phones. Instead, the company will use the chip in the Samsung Galaxy S22 FE, a mid-range mobile phone. Now, there are reports that the company will be bringing its chips back to its flagships. The Exynos 2400 will be the model from the Samsung Galaxy S24 series.

There are reports that the Samsung Exynos 2400 will start mass production in November this year. Samsung Galaxy S24 series will go official in 2024 and may use this chip. This chip can only be used for the South Korean version of this mobile phone series. Currently, there are two specs rumors regarding the architecture design of the Samsung Exynos 2400. There is a report that the chip will use 1+4+3 octa-core architecture. However, there is another report that the device will come with a ten-core 1+2+3+4 architecture.

The Exynos 2400 is expected to come with one Cortex X4 super large core, one Cortex A510 small core and one Cortex A720 large core. However, there is no specific number of major and minor cores. There are no leaks or rumors regarding the specific number. It is important to note that Samsung has been using Snapdragon chips in its flagship devices in recent years. But there will still be flagship phones equipped with its Exynos series chips in the Korean market.

Apart from this, the Exynos series chips also have a lot of influence in Europe. It is unclear whether the European version of the Samsung Galaxy S24 series will use the Qualcomm processor or the Exynos 2400. As of now, there is no official comment from Samsung regarding this report.

Samsung Galaxy S23 Series Exclusive Chip Exposure: Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy

Samsung and Qualcomm have reached an agreement that the upcoming Galaxy S23 series will use a special chipset, which will be officially called the “Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Mobile Platform for Galaxy”. However, the name looks too long, and Samsung is preparing to simplify it to “Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy”. There are reports that the new version of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 chip still uses TSMC’s 4nm process. Its super-large core is Cortex X3, and the CPU clock frequency will be 3.36GHz. This is higher than the 3.2GHz clock frequency that the original model from Qualcomm used. Samsung made some changes to Qualcomm’s chip to make it more powerful.
