Late yesterday TVLine reported the news of the sudden cancellation of Batman: Caped Crusader, the new animated series starring the Dark Knight produced by Bruce Timm with JJ Abrams and Matt Reeves, along with other animated projects in development for the HBO Max streaming platform including Merry Little Batman, The Day the Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie, Bye Bye Bunny: A Looney Tunes Musical, Did I Do That to The Holidays: A Steve Urkel Story And The Amazing World of Gumball: The Movie. Fortunately, after a few hours a clarification came from Borys Kit from THR And Heat Vision who confirmed that Batman: Caped Crusader has not been canceled but will not air on HBO Max.

The authoritative editor of THR in a tweet confirmed that Batman: Caped Crusader has not been canceled: the series is in fact in progress (a complete first season of 13 episodes had already been ordered) and there was no stop to the works. The series will simply no longer be broadcast on HBO Max but will be “resold” to other streaming platforms. Obviously, behind this choice there are the cuts promoted by the new CEO David Zaslav to optimize HBO Max in view of the merger with the Discovery Plus platform next year.
