Corsair Launches 8TB Capacity MP600 Pro XT SSD

Corsair has quietly added another 8TB capacity model to its premium MP600 Pro XT PCIe 4.0 drive family. The new drives offer enormous capacity when it comes to SSDs, but the performance is slightly lower compared to other models in the series.

The MP600 Pro XT is based on Phison’s PS5018-E18 controller and Micron’s 176-layer 3D TLC NAND memories. Corsair has previously offered MP600 Pro XT drives in 1TB, 2TB and 4TB capacities. However, the German retailer proshop.destarted selling the model offering 8 TB of storage ( 1,399.90).

The 8 TB MP600 Pro XT model offers up to 7,100 MB/s sequential read speed, 6,100 MB/s sequential write speed and 1.2 million/950 thousand IOPS. Speeds are a bit slow compared to other drives, but considering the combination of PCIe 4.0 x4 speeds and high 8TB storage, that shouldn’t be a problem.

Corsair also introduced its MP700 SSDs using the PCI Gen 5 interface last month. These drives can achieve sequential read speeds of 10,000 MB/s and sequential write speeds of 9,500 MB/s.
