And the miracle was done: editing tweets is now possible on Twitter, we have tested it

Altering an already published tweet was impossible without modifying a screenshot with a photo editor. But, with the introduction of the edit button, Twitter has changed history: correcting errors in messages begins to be possible. Of course, Twitter Blue is essential.

Editing what you write is basic in social settings, but it is not included in all the most popular applications. Without going any further, the ubiquitous WhatsApp still does not allow editing (it is being tested). And Twitter, another of the platforms that most drags the request for editions, either. At least until now, that everything is changing for a few.

Editing tweets is possible, but only if you pay

It does not come to us again, that Twitter has already been in charge of anticipating it in the words of Blue, the platform’s premium subscription. As it appeared in the first edited tweet, messages can be altered as desired by their owner to correct an error, expand the information or completely alter the tweet. But a trace remains, the edition is not indelible.

So you can delete your Twitter account forever from your mobile

Tweets can now be edited, yes, but it is essential to pay Twitter Blue; a subscription that can only be purchased in the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. We have it and we were able to access the long-awaited edition, so we did it in some tweets. And it works perfectly.

Edit Twitter Tweets

Twitter allows you to change what has already been published without losing sight of the original content or the pertinent changes that were made until the tweet that is finally seen in the timeline. The reader can see at a glance which tweets have been edited. And also can read all history: the trail never disappears from Twitter.

The edit tweets button follows the following operating premises:

  • Twitter allows you to edit any tweet of your own after half an hour of publication. Once said half hour passes, the message no longer admits any more editions.

Edit Twitter Tweets As the maximum editing time approaches, a countdown appears. Once the deadline expires, the tweet can no longer be edited

  • Each tweet can be edited up to five times. This is the limit: Twitter does not support a sixth rewrite.
  • Edited tweets have a pencil icon. Whenever you see this icon in a tweet, it means that the owner of the message has changed it after posting it.
  • Twitter keeps the change history of every edited tweet. So that everyone can see what the original tweet contained, Twitter allows you to read it by clicking on the “Last edited” tab, which appears just below the message.

Edit Twitter Tweets

The feature is now available on Twitter Blue for subscribers. And the edited tweets show up in the apps: the pencil icon tells that the messages were altered. It is convenient to look at this icon, especially with the accounts that are used to pouring disinformation.
