Windows 11 LTSC, all about the version that everyone wants to install

Windows 11 is the latest operating system from Microsoft, a version that is generating both love and hate among users. This operating system has already completed a year of life, and Microsoft has even already released what has been its first major update, full of new functions and features. There are users who have already installed it, and have come across new features and problems, and others who are still using the first version of the OS. However, in addition to Home and Pro, there is another edition of Windows that many users are betting on, but about which little is still known: what about Windows 11 LTSC?

Windows LTSC is an edition of the operating system designed, above all, to offer best performance and best stability. This edition stands out for several things, such as removing all bloatware by default, not including unnecessary Microsoft features and services and, most importantly, not receiving annual updates and having extended support of up to 5 years. That is to say, as long as we have this version installed we will not receive new versions, but we will receive all kinds of security patches and maintenance updates.

The current LTSC is based on Windows 10. Users of this operating system who want to install this edition have to go to the previous version of the system. This is based on Windows 10 2021 Update (21H1), and will be supported for 5 years, nearing the end of the overall system lifecycle.

And what about Windows 11 LTSC?

While many users expected that this long-awaited edition would arrive along with the launch of the system, or shortly after, it has not finally been the case. As we have already explained, last year Microsoft launched its new LTSC based on Windows 10 and, for the moment, Windows 11 does not seem to be receiving any more editions.

Most likely, Microsoft will wait for the current Windows 10 to end support before releasing a new version in extended support. Therefore, surely we will not see a Windows 11 LTSC until 2024 or, hopefully, towards the end of the year. In this way, in addition, Microsoft has time to debug its operating system and offer users the experience they are looking for when they opt for this edition.

An edition that is installed illegally

When we are going to install Windows on the PC, it is normal to choose between two editions: Home or Pro. In addition to them, there are also other editions designed for companies (Enterprise), for education (Education), and even for the Internet of Things. Things (IoT). And, within the Enterprise is where this LTSC is located.

this edition It is designed for business environments, for companies. Its license is sold in batches in subscription mode, as if it were an Enterprise. Therefore, as stipulated in its terms of use, it is an edition designed for companies. Use outside of any business setting violates these terms. Just as the acquisition of a license will not be legal, as it is not sold as such separately (although it is easy to find them on key websites).
