3 Battery Boosting Habits iPhone Users Should Adopt Immediately

You want your iPhone battery to behave as if it were inside one of your most expensive tech devices. What does this actually mean? In this case, it means incorporating some effective daily habits into your routine that can increase your battery life and make it last longer. Tech expert Patricio Poucar, co-founder of Navi, suggests three battery-boosting habits iPhone users should adopt immediately.

screen display

Your screen’s backlight lighting is a major energy hog, Paucar reminds us, and there are two easy fixes. “Navigate to Settings > Display & Brightness,” Pouker says. “Set your screen to ‘dark’. The less extreme, make sure ‘auto brightness’ is turned on. Check it in Settings > Accessibility > Display and text size, scroll down to ‘Auto-brightness’. Turn it on here . You can adjust your brightness manually by toggling ‘Auto-Brightness’. The challenge is remembering to turn down the brightness when conditions allow. (I always forget, so I’m using “Auto-Brightness” “I stay connected.)”

customized charging

This tip is not available on iPhone running OS 12 and earlier. But if you’re running the latest software, your phone’s optimized battery charging actually learns from your routine and reduces the time your iPhone charges by 100%. This helps keep your battery at 100% capacity for a longer period of time, says Pauker. Go to “Settings > Battery > Battery Health > Optimized Battery Charging and make sure it’s on.”

work energy mode

A great option for anyone, in low power mode, your brightness is dimmed, background app refresh disabled, as does automatic downloads, Pouker says. “It also reduces animations,” says Pauker. “When your battery hits 20% and 10%, an alert will be offered to turn on Low Power Mode with a single tap. Or, go to Settings > Battery > Low Power Mode.”
