really has finally launched in Peru a smartphone that had already been announced in Latin America: it is the realme 9ia terminal that comes in an attractive design, in addition to a camera module that does not protrude too much from the body.
We have tested the realme 9i for several weeks and finally we have the review end of this smartphone with Android 11 operating system.
DESIGN
The realme 9i carries a series of measurements of 164.4 x 75.7 x 8.4 mm, which has become a lightweight device, value for money, with an attractive design and, above all, clean. There are not too many additions or extra buttons to those already known and that is appreciated. In addition, a light body of 190 grams is added.
On its sides we have the classic USB Type-C port, the 3.5 jack port for headphones, plus the tray for the NanoSIM and MicroSDthe volume buttons and the on/off button that also works as a fingerprint reader.

In the chassis we place a triple camera, in addition to a body made of polished and shiny plastic that, although it looks attractive, is usually a fingerprint scanner, so you must clean the device every so often and, above all, be very careful not to mistreat him.

The best of all is that it does not have a notch, to which is added a small perforation on the screen with the aim of locating the front camera.
SCREEN
The realme 9i has a 6.6-inch IPS LCD technology screen, which also incorporates a 90hz refresh rate that will serve not only for animations, but will also improve the appearance of some games.
What is the most you can play a video? If you like to watch clips from YouTube or Netflix, these will only go up to 1080 pixels. Although it does not reach 4K, it can support 60 frames per second in case you want to view your YouTube and Netflix content with improvements in movements.

On the subject of colors they are quite intense, although on some occasions, in case you have the energy saving mode activated, they tend to become cold and not very noticeable in case you are under the sun. The tonalities also do not enjoy somewhat pronounced blacks, it is not contrasted, and whites with good control of details.
On some occasions, the realme 9i screen may generate a certain bounce of light or too much impregnation of fingerprints and that is its weak point.
The resolution of the realme 9i is 1080 x 2412 pixels in a 20:9 body that occupies 84.2% of the total. The best of all is that the front camera lens does not generate any type of burning or staining on the contour that makes it difficult or prevents your YouTube videos from being seen, especially if you use the full screen.

PROCESSOR AND PERFORMANCE
One of the things that is missing this device is that it does not carry 5g. The realme 9i has a Snapdragon 680 4G processor insidewhich allows a fairly well achieved performance so that the terminal does not suffer from lag, much less blinking in the animations.
On the other hand, It comes with 6 GB of RAM, which can be expanded up to 5 GB more, thus obtaining 11 GB to improve the performance of the realme 9i. For the gaming test we have installed Geshin Impact, even though we noticed that the graphics are usually quite smooth, although in certain cases the character tends to become slow. Landscapes and graphics are stable, but there is some heat in the chassis.

In the case of Fortnite, we have noticed some slowness in loading graphics, reaching medium quality and 30 frames per second. While downloading HD assets, shooting accuracy or character movement is often a bit stressful as it’s not smooth.
One of the surprising things is that the realme 9i comes with Android 11, but it comes with a realme UI 2.0 customization layerwhich is friendly and you can find all the possible settings without having to press the search button.

On the other hand, the smartphone also has 128 GB of internal memory, although with the number of games we have downloaded, we had about half of the storage left, but this does not affect the performance or speed of the device at all.
CAMERAS
In the photographic section, the realme 9i has a 16-megapixel front camera in a small hole in the screen, as well as a triple rear camera headed by a 50-megapixel lens with f/1.8 aperture, the 2-megapixel f/2.4 depth lens and a 2-megapixel macro lens.
As is known, the main camera tends to work with the two small lenses. That means that the 2 megapixel sensors do not work independently.
In relation to photographs, the quality of the images is usually good. There is not much contrast in the images, but sometimes, in case you do not have too much light or the day is cloudy, the colors tend to be a bit cold.

In that case, you must activate HDR and artificial intelligence so that the image is treated and some lighting is increased in case you are in shadow.
The camera also allows you to use the 2X zoom, but yes, if you do not have strong or intense light, they will be opaque and with a certain level of noise. In our case, we use it in full sun and the results have been favorable, although we have noticed pastelization and treatment in the photos.

The 50 megapixels of the realme 9i are a benefit that provides greater detail capture of objects, but these are lost at night, forcing you to use the flash so that they come out a little more uniform.
About the front camera, because the colors are quite natural. There is no refinement or falsification, abusing artificial intelligence. There is naturalness in our faces, although at night there is a decline in colors and they are usually very cold.

Regarding the shots, well, it does enjoy speed in the day and it does not take too long to apply the HDR or the treatment when saving the image. But yes, at night, in case you try to use the night mode, the photo processing can be a little slower than normal, including shooting.
BATTERY
The realme 9i carries in its body 5000 mAh and a fast charge of 33 W. The best of all is that you have the charger included in the box and that is a good step for those brands that are reluctant to abandon this necessary part for smartphones.
In just 30 minutes we can obtain, from scratch, about 50%, while 100% in an hour and 10 minutes.

And about the duration? If we are a bit demanding, the cell phone can arrive around 8 to 10 hours if you start playing or taking pictures and even recording.
CONCLUSIONS
- The realme 9i has a fairly light body, with a fairly clean design, but fingerprints are impregnated even if you have touched it just to see a message.
- On the subject of performance, it is more than enough in case you want to carry out daily tasks. In the case of games, it can be used for Fortnite or Genshin Impact, but the richness of the graphics is only average.
- Best of all, the realme 9i allows you to increase RAM by up to 11 GB, but yes, you will have to sacrifice up to 5 GB of internal memory.
- Another aspect that we did like is that the smartphone has stereo speakers, something that in the mid-range sector only plays mono. This enriches the way to watch videos from any streaming platform such as YouTube, Netflix, etc.
