Update: ‘I’m an Apple expert and this is one app I recommend all iPhone users remove immediately’

This updated post was originally published on November 24, 2021.

If you really want to know which iPhone apps are worth your time and which are actually stealing battery power and data from you, then there’s no one better to ask an Apple tech expert. While we probably all know (all too well) the drawbacks of using apps like Facebook or Snapchat and the battery-draining risks of streaming apps, there are other apps that fly under the radar and pose just as much risk when it comes to privacy. Are filled and security. We spoke with not just one, but two Apple experts, to narrow down the apps they recommend all iPhone users remove from their phones ASAP.

Avoid: Apps that provide VPN service

“For the past three years, I’ve been working with Apple and I’ve seen a lot of devices and varieties of models,” said Spielix CEO Steven Walker, a techie and Apple expert. All I have to do is choose one app any application that provides you with a VPN service. It is used to provide online privacy by hiding your internet activity and anonymously by creating a private internet network through a public connection. In newer iPhone devices, you get built-in VPN access to your smartphone.

With that in mind, Walker says it’s important to delete your applications. “I recommend this app because the new iPhone has a built-in feature, but many VPN apps steal your data and credentials – so, it would help if you avoided these types of apps,” Walker it is said.

Avoid: TikTok

According to Samuel McGraw, founder and CEO of Design Hub, there are major security and privacy concerns with TikTok that should be taken seriously. TikTok has been accused of collecting too much user data and some serious security breaches have been reported. It also has weak restraints in blocking anything that might hurt or target individuals because of its platform-agnostic algorithms, McGraw said. “This can potentially lead to harassment, cyberbullying and even phishing.

Several countries, including the United States, have raised concerns about Chinese technology companies such as TikTok having ties to the Chinese government. This raises important questions about the data they collect, whether they are truly protecting user privacy and if they are using the data for political or commercial gain. I know this is something that may not seem like a big deal to many people, but it can have potentially harmful consequences.

Lastly, McGraw points to concerns about the impact this app could have on young users. “With its light-hearted and entertaining content, it can be easy for users to use TikTok, resulting in the neglect of other important daily activities,” McGraw said. “It can also expose viewers to potentially harmful universal tendencies and lifestyles that can harm their mental and physical health. Needless to say, it is a breeding ground for misinformation that may present itself as legitimate, but it is not.

And while you’re removing harmful apps from your iPhone, why not consider adding an app that can help? CocoSign CEO, techie Stephen Curry says there’s one essential app for any iPhone: iCleaner.

For performance and battery optimization, useless junk data needs to be cleaned regularly from the iPhone and this app has the ability to do this automatically, says Curry. iCleaner is able to clean unnecessary iOS files on iPhone. It allows you to delete email attachments, Safari cookies/cache, browser history, application cache, cookies, temporary files, unused dependencies, log files, temporary files, and much more. iOS provides an easy way to erase useless data on the device. You can quickly delete all useless files to get more storage space on iPhone and stabilize its performance. This can assure you that the deleted iPhone data will not be restored. If so, you can better protect your privacy.”

And now there you have it: It only takes a few minutes to remove VPN service apps and install iCleaner for iPhone working better.
