DAZN comes to Amazon Prime Video with fewer advantages than we would like

It seems that this week DAZN has been determined to be news day in and day out. On the one hand, due to the rise in prices, and on the other, because the streaming platform has withdrawn its channels DAZN LaLiga and DAZN 1-4 from the Movistar Plus+ and Orange TV apps. But far from reducing your distribution windowshas just expanded them with an important agreement.

DAZN has closed a global alliance with Amazon to distribute its sports streaming service through Prime Video channels. In other words, as of today, DAZN is another optional channel on the Amazon platform, as are, for example, LaLiga SmartBank TV or FlixOl.

Same price as if you contract it through DAZN

Amazon and DAZN have reached a global agreement for the distribution of the sports streaming service as a new Prime Video channel. As of today, Amazon Prime customers will be able to access DAZN’s live and on-demand sports content directly from Prime Video.

Watching football in Spain is becoming more expensive: Movistar, Orange and DAZN have started the year with increases

Of course, for this you will have to pay an additional monthly fee: 29.99 euros per month It’s what it costs you to add DAZN to your Prime subscription and, with it, you can enjoy matches from LaLiga Santander, the English Premier League, Formula 1 or MotoGP, among others.

Therefore, as with other platforms, the price of the DAZN channel on Prime Video It is the same as if you contract DAZN Total via DAZN. In addition, we cannot benefit from a free trial month (as is the case with LaLiga Smartbank TV) and Amazon warns that some content will not be available:

Subscription to DAZN through Prime Video gives you access to all DAZN content with the exception of Eurosport 1, Eurosport 2 and a limited number of additional live events.

So what is the benefit for the customer? None, apart from the fact that you pay for DAZN directly through Amazon, you avoid having to use another app to access the content (with its corresponding username and password) and you can cancel at any timewithout the month’s notice required by DAZN.

For DAZN, it means one more showcase where you can display your content, while for Amazon it is an opportunity to expand its list of channels. And on top of that, they can both share your name, email address, and subscription status “for marketing and account management purposes.”

The service, as we said, is launched today in Spain and Germany, and soon, it will be extended to other countries. Japan will be next.
