In the functioning of every label there are slip-ups – it is difficult to function without making any mistakes. These, however, are divided into smaller slip-ups and larger gaffes. And it’s no secret that failed approaches to iconic brands are particularly badly received among fans when they want to resurrect them or, in a sense, develop them. However, there are times when the approaches are much worse than simply “failed”.
And such an example is “Velma”, which appeared on HBO Max. Much has been written and said about the position itself – mainly for the sake of how badly he approaches the source material. It’s not even about changing the appearance of the characters, but about tasteless jokes, a complete lack of understanding of the original, losing the sense and what Scooby-Doo actually was. Everything falls out like a completely detached series (weak, it’s worth adding), with heroes with the same names.
Undoubtedly, many people will point to this title, choosing the worst animated series they have had the opportunity to watch. And, well, that group is likely to be quite large, as the production just hit that mark on arguably the largest movie ratings aggregator on the Internet, IMDb. Although the popularity is huge (17th place), the result leaves no illusions – with nearly 40,000 reviews, the current score is 1.3/10. Unique stench.
