Xiaomi 12 Lite Review: the good and the bad of the smartphone

Will it be a good idea to buy a tablet in the middle of 2023? Brands are still launching this device to be used, above all, by people who are new to technology, those who need a larger terminal or simply for the University. One of them is the xiaomi redmipad.

How good is it? Will it work to play? We were able to test the tablet for a few weeks and this is the review full of the xiaomi redmipad.

DESIGN

The Xiaomi Redmi Pad 2022 has a well-achieved design. Although it does not have too many buttons on its bezels, apart from the volume and the on and off buttons, the tablet has 4 Dolby Atmos speakers that generate involvement in the person who stands in front of the panel.

This device has a 10.61-inch screen, in addition to a structure of 250.38 x 157.98 x 7.05 mm with a relative weight of 445 grams. Its size does not cause any type of discomfort, on the contrary, it is light.

The only thing different is that it does not have pins to connect a physical keyboard. Although there are cases, in that case you must use Bluetooth to be able to add a keyboard and thus work as much as you want.

Already in the rear area we have a completely flat area where we only locate the 8 megapixel rear camera which we almost forgot about since tablets are often not focused on taking pictures.

we also have the USB Type-C port and the slot to extend the internal memory, it is not possible to put a chip in it or Nano SIM to be able to communicate with our friends by calling. Although that’s not a problem.

SCREEN

This is from 10.61 inches and has an IPS LCD resolution of 1,200 x 2,000 pixels. It also has a refresh rate that will even improve the experience in animations: 90hz. However, I think its Achilles heel is located in the brightness system.

It only has 400 nits of brightness, so it is possible that if you take it to the beach, you will not be able to see your notifications or play normally.

The Xiaomi Redmi Pad offers quite warm tones compared to a Chinese screen. The resolution lets you watch clips from YouTube or Netflix at 2160 pixels, but falls short of the much-wanted 4K.

But at least he defends himself. The content fits on its display and the blacks are not as saturated and textured, as are the whites, they are not too intense to leave you without blinking for too long.

PROCESSOR AND PERFORMANCE

The Xiaomi Redmi Pad 2022 has a processor MediaTek Helio G99 which, although it is almost similar to a mid-range, is usually not too slow or too fast. It is precise against the touches and the executions of the applications.

Heavy apps tend to open quite easily, without putting too much strain on the device and, as a consequence, without heating it up like an oven. In it we find 4 GB of RAM that can be expanded to 2 GB more.

Similarly, their ability to Storage is 128 GB, although you can put a microSD so that you do not run out of size. On the other hand, it brings Android 12 from the factory with MIUI Pad 13.1 for tabletscustomization layer that makes the device quite light in animations.

There was no kicking, much less lag during the weeks of testing, on the contrary, it behaved in such a way that several things could be done on the tablet, such as playing Genshin Impact as well as Fortnite.

In Genshin Impacr the tablet ran it at 30 frames per second in high quality and the truth is that the graphics were not poorly calibrated. (Photo: MAG - Rommel Yupanqui)

In the case of the first, it was executed at 30 frames per second in high quality and the truth is that the graphics were not poorly calibrated, on the contrary, the animations and shots, as well as the spells of the characters, were clearly seen and it did not end up dizzy when you turned or did the odd pirouette.

Moving to Fortnite, the Xiaomi Redmi Pad 2022 also managed to have a good performance, thus reaching an average quality with 30 frames per second, which is the maximum it can give. Although at first the animation could be a bit slow, as the tempo went by, the tablet adapted to the movement and precision of the strategy game.

BATTERY

The Xiaomi Redmi Pad 2022 It is designed to last around 2 days without touching the plug. bring one 8,000 mAh power with 18 W chargingalthough a 25 w plug is included in its box.

When you try to power it up, you can get to 50% in around 35 minutes, while you’ll only get to 100% in an hour and 20 minutes. While in the battery drain, this is usually used up, in idle state or for basic tasks, in around 36 to 48 hours.

If you are a person who likes to watch videos or marathons on Netflix, the tablet may last around 12 hours or less, depending a lot on the resolution in which you watch and the hours that the screen remains on without any break.

CONCLUSIONS

  • The Xiaomi Redmi Pad 2022 has become one of the tablets launched in 2022 that tend to compete in order to monopolize the large terminal sector.
  • It does not bring many attractions, but it is usually quite basic, although it has somewhat large bezels on its sides.
  • What I did like were its speakers, capable of responding to any type of sound and generating an envelopment thanks to its Dolby Atmos.
  • The Xiaomi Redmi Pad 2022 is sold in Peru at 989 soles from the Xiaomi page
