Google introduced Apprentice Bard: Advanced AI will answer all possible questions!

We waited. Google officially presented Apprentice Bard, its new artificial intelligence (AI)-based chatbot, which it is gradually deploying in its search engine. Among other things, the chatbot fulfills the role of a kind of competition for the ChatGPT bot from OpenAI, which debuted at the end of November last year.

Google has been interested in the field of AI for a long time. Two years ago, he released his own language model for dialog applications, abbreviated LaMDA. And it was he who became the basis for Apprentice Bard. His task will be to try to connect cutting-edge knowledge with the performance, intelligence and creativity of large language models. He uses the web as a source of information so that he can always provide the most accurate and high-quality answers.

Apprentice Bard will also be available for easier explanation of complex topics. In this context, Google gives the example of a 9-year-old child, to whom AI explains the latest discoveries of the James Webb Space Telescope.

Google AI - Apprentice Bard

Currently in testing stage

Google claims that Apprentice Bard currently runs on a lightweight version of the LaMDA model. This model requires significantly less computing power, and thus it is possible to push it among a larger number of people and thus obtain more reliable feedback. The release of AI to the public should take place sometime in the next few weeks.

“We will combine external feedback with our own internal testing to ensure that the answers meet a high standard of quality, security and factual information. We look forward to this phase of testing, which will help us continue to learn and improve the quality and speed of the Bard app. writes Google on its blog.

Loaded with up-to-date information

The main advantage of the Apprentice Bard is supposed to be his education. As we already informed you in this article, ChatGPT is smart but his knowledge is limited, especially when it comes to events after 2021. Apprentice Bard is up-to-date and can talk about hot topics. During one of the tests, he was even able to predict whether Google was planning another layoff.
