The 6G is ahead and will be available sooner than expected

Technology does not stop advancing and 5G has offered us a whole world of possibilities with the increase in Internet speed that it has provided. Nowthe arrival of 6G could be closer than is believed, specifically two years earlier than expected.

This is South Korea, which recently, through the Ministry of Information Technology and Communications of that country, announced that in 2028 they expect 6G networks to start operating in the country. Quite a surprising announcement, as 5G hasn’t even been fully rolled out and expanded yet.

The goal of the South Korean government is encourage the companies that make life in the country to get involved in the process around getting all the tools, parts and materials that may be needed to power the wireless Internet that would emerge based on this new technology.

Until now, it has been the United States and Western European countries that have led the way in the spread of wireless Internet. However, the situation took a 180 degree turn with the arrival of 5G, since South Korea and China have been the countries that have benefited the most with this technology.

The improvements that 6G will offer have not yet been confirmed

In fact, while South Korea has 25.9% of 5G patents, China has 26.8% of them. This breakthrough could give South Korea a 30% boost in the race to create and implement 6G.

What 6G could offer

This ad could also be a response not to be outdone by China, who since November of last year would have already begun testing possible 6G networks together with the mobile firm ZTE.

At the moment, the improvements and benefits that 6G would provide compared to 5G have not yet been confirmed in detail. What has been estimated is that 6G networks will have a speed of 1 terabit per second. This speed would be 100 times faster than the maximum speed that 5G technology can offer, which is limited to 10 Gbps.
