The first screenshots from Cities: Skylines II, a continuation of the hit city-building strategy by Colossal Order, have appeared online.

  1. The screenshots were published prematurely on the Microsoft Store website.
  2. They have already been removed from the store (now only scenes from the CG trailer are visible there), but earlier one of the fans managed to make a copy of the page. So if you want to see these screenshots, go to Archive.org.
  3. The graphics are intriguing not only because they are the first screenshots from the game, but also because they show the changes the authors are planning.
  4. These screenshots suggest that Cities: Skylines II will abandon the slightly cartoonish style of the first part in favor of more realistic graphics. This is not a new trend, as it could be partially observed already in the late DLC for “one”.
  5. On one of the screenshots you can also take a look at the changed interface.

Cities: Skylines II is coming to PCs, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5. The game will also be available as part of the Game Pass subscription. The premiere is scheduled for this year.

Recently, the creators announced that the sequel is being developed on the Unity engine, which was generally warmly received by fans of the franchise, including because it will greatly facilitate the creation of modifications. However, the changes in the game will be so big that it will probably not be possible to load the mods from the first part, and they will have to be reworked first. In addition, contrary to the hopes of players, Cities: Skylines II will lack a multiplayer mode.
