An update to Call of Duty developer Infinity Ward’s Twitter page has fans speculating that the team may be ready to announce a new modern warfare game.
On Friday, Infinity Ward took down both its Twitter banner and profile icons that — which at first blush, anyway — seemed to be solid black logos without any images or text.

Bright turned up, however, and eagle-eyed players think they’ve seen fan-favorite character Ghost lurking in the background, whispers that an announcement is imminent.
Rumors started swirling back in September that Infinity was in the works for its 2019 Modern Warfare soft reboot, a campaign thought to revolve around US special forces fighting Colombian drug cartels. Activision has since confirmed that this year’s Call of Duty release will indeed be a Modern Warfare installment, but that’s all we officially know at this point.
Activision’s “Going Dark” leaker ties in with earlier reports from Ralphsvalve, who tweeted earlier this month That the date “30th April” would be significant.
Without anything concrete we can take this with a prerequisite bucket of salt, but watch this space as we can find out more about Modern Warfare 2 as soon as possible.
Activision also recently revealed what’s coming to Call of Duty: Mobile’s latest season, Wild Dogs, which includes “a whole new way to play battle royale” through its new mode, Sandstorm.
As of UK time on April 28, there are also two new maps available in Season 4 – Cold War Satellite and Modern Warfare 2019 Ruins – as well as new operators, weapons, blueprints, calling cards, charms and COD points, as well as 50 new levels of “Battle Pass Rewards”.
