We have long known that Obi-Wan Kenobi will see the return of Hayden Christensen as Darth Vader, a role he played in the final scenes of Revenge of the Sith, but apparently we will see other well-known faces of the saga. During an interview with Total Film, Obi-Wan Kenobi director Deborah Chow promised the return of more Star Wars characters, who will join new faces that will debut in the Disney + series:
“Obi-Wan will go on a journey, which will lead him to meet several people who have been part of his life. One of the things I’ve tried to heal in the series is the legacy, who was important in Obi-Wan’s life, as well as introducing new characters. So, the result will be a mix of the two, but I think there will be many surprises “
It’s hard not to think about the two figures who most influenced Obi-Wan during his years as a Jedi. While the return of Anakin Skywalker has been confirmed, albeit in his Darth Vader Sith guise, the hope of fans is to see again. Liam Neeson wearing the role of the master Qui-Gon Jinn as the spirit of the Force, a role that the actor would be willing to play again only in a film, according to recent statements made to ComicBook.com:
“I have to admit I’m quite a snob when it comes to television, I feel more like a big screen type. Qui-Gon, I can’t believe it’s been 24 years since The Phantom Menace, I can’t conceive how so many years have gone by! It was a unique experience, shooting that film in London “
Deborah Chow also reassured fans about the kind of conception that guided her steps in making Obi-Wan Kenobi:
“We conceived it all with a beginning, a middle and a conclusion. It’s a great story, we’ve always seen it that way, even if you never know what’s going to happen in the future. BUT if another series comes along, it will still be subject to the same creative process, we need to make sure there really is a story to tell “
