This is the incredible NEXUS submarine that could revolutionize underwater tourism

It has the capacity to dive up to 200 meters and has a battery that allows it to be underwater for 18 hours.

Elon Musk has already announced that his strategy with SpaceX is to achieve recreational and tourist flights to space. The company is still running with that goal in mind, but everything indicates that there is still time for it to become a reality. Space may seem unattainable at a tourist level but… what about the bottom of the sea?

The NEXUS recreational submarine is capable of descending to 200 meters

Oddly enough, most of the Earth’s deep sea is unexplored, and every year new species are discovered that live hundreds of meters below sea level. However, you don’t have to go very deep to marvel at the beauty of the seabed, and that is precisely what the U-Boat company wants to demonstrate.

This company has built a submarine that is designed exclusively for underwater recreational uses. They have baptized it with the name of NEXUS, and its structure resembles a giant bubble with seats. The submarine has a high level of maneuverability and is capable of descending to about 200 meters.

Trips aboard the NEXUS allow you to explore the seabed up close

It is equipped with nine seats that are arranged in a circular way, surrounding the structure. Everything is laminated with reinforced glass that allows you to see the outside in great detail. The vehicle is silent and moves slowly through the water to prevent bubble buildup that could hinder the view of the crew. It is designed exclusively for tourist use, being one of the few underwater recreational vehicles built for that purpose.

In the US, dives are already being made aboard NEXUS, but still in a controlled environment. The capsule is installed inside the ship, and once at sea, the submarine is submerged for a short time with the passengers on board. The vehicle has a built-in 62 kWh battery that allows 18 continuous hours of operationbut at the moment dives of a few hours are being carried out to test the capabilities.

At the moment these trips are not available for recreational use, and these submarines cannot be purchased by individuals. However, tests on the high seas indicate that this system of underwater “tourism” could have a lot of attraction.
