Half Life 2: the VR mod takes giant steps! Here is the latest gameplay

In 2017, a Half Life 2 fan decided to embark on a real venture and build one mod vr for the title produced by Valve. Many years have now passed since the project came to life and, over time, there has been no shortage of updates. Only a few weeks ago, in fact, we analyzed a video in which the latest advances of the mod are shown. Today, however, we have much more material available.

The youtuber Beardo Banjo, in fact, he posted a long gameplay showing 40 minutes of gameplay. In the video, we can see the initial stages of Half Life 2. The overall quality of the product, which is still in beta, is excellent. The fan made mod, in fact, has nothing to envy to native titles for vr. The mechanics are able to respond comfortably to all the commands of virtual reality and allow you to have an experience that already in this beta phase seems exceptional. The youtuber himself, in fact, is enthusiastic about the product and particularly enhances the weapon selection system. The latter is the same as present in Half Life Alyxthe latest chapter of the saga developed in virtual reality.

Even in terms of graphics and game physics, Half Life 2 continues to behave well and does not seem to present particular critical issues even with this mod. In fact, in addition to emphasizing how this mod returns the experience of a native title for virtual reality, Beardo Banjo shows additional interesting elements. In addition to the game physics which, from the release of the title, allows you to move every single object, the youtuber emphasizes the graphic quality. In particular, light and lighting effects are one of the most striking elements of Valve’s title even today.

The mod for Half Life 2, currently, it is still in the beta phase. As previously mentioned, as this is a project developed by a single enthusiast, it is difficult to know for sure when this title will be released. However, despite the five years of work taken so far, given the results we can only totally trust the modder.
