Honor continues to launch devices globally and locally. This time he has decided to show in Peru his most recent Honor X8the same one that not only allows you to access Google apps, but is also helped in performance by Honor RAM Turbo.
Is it a good or bad idea to buy it? Here we tell you the positive and negative of the smartphone of Honor We’ve been testing it for a few weeks.
DESIGN
The Honor X8 is characterized by being one of the thinnest smartphones, as it measures 163.4 x 74.7 x 7.5 mmbeing the one with the least thickness compared to the other cell phones that we have tested.
The materials in which the device is made are essentially polished plastic on the back, with a camera module that reminds us of an apple brand cell phone. The color that has touched us has been blue and stands out for that special bright of its casing.

One of the things that you will like about the terminal is that it comes with a 3.5 jack port for headphones, the USB Type-C port, the on and off button that acts as a fingerprint reader, and the volume buttons. It has a single speaker in the lower area.

In its front area there is a panel made entirely of glass. We have not been assured that it is Gorilla Glass, so you should be extra careful.
The cell phone weighs around 177 grams and is quite light, it can be handled with one hand, but it is necessary to place the case that comes as a gift.
SCREEN
The screen of the Honor X8 is 6.7 inches and it is more than enough. This unfolds in such a way that both the lower and upper bezels are quite thin.. Its panel is IPS LCD that occupies about 89.1% of the facade.
The device’s colors maintain a good balance around saturation and contrast. Although they are not extreme, the blacks are almost perfect, as well as the whites, all without losing their naturalness. In addition, integrates the 90 Hz refresh rate.

Also, if you want watch your YouTube or Netflix videos, these can reach 48 frames per second in 1080 pixel quality. More than good, but it helps in the development of the animations with its refresh rate.
Another aspect that should not be lost sight of is that the Honor X8 comes with a resolution of 1080 x 2388 pixels.this in the case you want to project your screen to the television or to any computer and it will not be deformed.

PROCESSOR AND PERFORMANCE
Does it come with Google Play? The Chinese brand provides its Honor X8 with Android 11 and Magic 4.2although it is also projected that the terminal be considered to receive Android 12 and Magic 6. Also, inside we have the processor Snapdragon 680 4Galthough it does not have 5G technology like its older cousins.
On the other hand, the cell phone has 128 GB of internal memory and works in conjunction with 6 GB of RAM. Although it is the first time that Honor has presented Honor Turbo RAM, the particular way of extending the RAM by up to 2 GB more.

This step is curious because although the Honor TurboRAM works to improve performance in background apps, it is unknown if this also applies to games. There is also no possibility to activate or deactivate it.

On the gaming side, when we opened Genshin Impact, the device was running fine although the animations used to be a bit laggy. As you progress through the game, this is fixed by making the flow of the image, sound, shots and animations shine.
In the same way with Fornite, when opening the game HD graphics were downloaded in the background, but what you should know is that this does not affect performance, despite the fact that the maximum it reaches is 30 frames per second in medium quality .
CAMERAS
The Honor X8 comes with four cameras in the rear, with the 64-megapixel main lens, followed by a 5-megapixel wide, 2 macro and 2 Depth sensor. In addition to a 16 megapixel front camera.
With the main lens, the photos come out more than decent. There is a good level of brightness and detail in case you use it in the sun. In the case of some shadows, the naturalness adjusted to HDR and artificial intelligence may end up being a little dark.

The sky comes out very blue and the colors are respected when you have the artificial intelligence active. There are no jumps in the shots in addition to being quite fast.
The Honor X8 has the ability to zoom in up to 2x zoom without distortion. In case you want to get closer to it, the image may be damaged.

On the other hand, the wide angle will only allow you to take fairly wide shots, but lose a bit of detail when you look at said photo on the computer. Of course, enough light is necessary to see the highlight of your photos.

As for the depth sensor lens, I’m glad that Honor got things right. Here we have a quick job when you get close to an object, allowing the background blur to run fast. In the same way, the macro lens allows us to capture elements with less than 4 cm of approach, although this only works if you have good lighting.

Already in the front camera you must take into account that the faces are not pastelized, much less when you activate the HDR. You can also use portrait mode, allowing you to enhance your selfies with the bokeh effect.
It should be noted, as a final fact, that the Honor X8 allows you to use both the front and rear cameras at the same time thanks to its Dual View function that comes in a latest update.
BATTERY
the battery of the Honor X8 is 4000mAh and it can last around a day and a half if you want to use the device for basic tasks such as checking messages or emails.
On the other hand, if you are a gamer or you like to record videos, it may reach 7 hours in total. On the other handthe 90 Hz screen although it gives you performance in the animations, it may spend a little more energy.

On the subject of charging, the terminal includes a 22.5W charger, so you have a 100% charge in just one hour and 10 minutes, while 50% in 45 minutes.
CONCLUSIONS
- The Honor X8 has a design that is truly a bombshell. The fact that the terminal is quite thin makes things easier when handling it with one hand.
- On the other hand, the device comes with a feature that helps content creators: dual view. So you can record your reactions.
- A detail that we also liked is in the battery section. Despite not being a 66w load, the 22.5w defend themselves to the fullest.
- The problem is, I think, in the issue of fingerprints. These are impregnated in the rear chassis and the screen, forcing you to clean it every so often in fear of scratching it.
