The Japanese company had not dared to take this step until now. In fact, the firm had named a version of the LEAF with the last name NISMO, but the model used did not incorporate any additional mechanical solution.

The improvement of the available technology and, of course, the new solutions introduced in battery packs, offer a greater margin of improvement when making this type of bets.
