The Google Assistant has been one of the protagonists of Google I/O 2022: these are the news that have been announced.

One more year, Google’s virtual assistant has been one of the great protagonists of the main conference of Google I/O. Google Assistant It has been the objective of some of the improvements that Google has been working on over the last few months, and that will be arriving over time.

During the conference, it was announced several important changes which we are going to review next:

look and talk

With Look and Talk, you avoid the need to have to say the keywords “Ok Google” when you want to make a query through a Intelligent Screen Nest Hub Max.

Using the camera integrated in the smart displaythe Wizard will be able to detect if a query is addressed to it, and will offer an answer accordinglywithout the need to “activate” Assistant with the typical phrase.

With Look and Talk, you no longer need to say “Ok Google” keywords.

Quick Phrases

In a similar way to “Look and Talk”, “Quick Phrases” also save us from having to say the keywords out loud when executing actions such as stop timers or alarms, control devices of our connected home or check the weather, among others.

A more proactive Assistant

Google has managed to make the Assistant understands in a more precise way our way of speakingso that even if we stop before performing a query, the assistant is able to interpret the pause and wait for us to finish.

And, in case of not being able to finish the query, the Assistant will use the information obtained so far to try to finish the query in a proactive way.

Both features will start coming to Google Assistant starting this summer. Initially they will be available to users in the United States, but it is expected that sooner or later they will end up reaching the rest of the world’s regions.
