Synology RT6600ax now available, also supports WiFi 6 networks

Through a press release, Synology announced the launch of its new router RT6600axdesigned to offer high speed and security thanks to support for networks Wi-Fi 6atoptimization of data encodingto the beamformingat the planning and tosignal isolation. Features a 2.5GbE configurable port for WAN or LAN use which allows users to take advantage of Multi-Gig internet connections or high performance devices such as a NAS as well as a high speed wireless backhaul.

The device is managed by the software Synology Router Manager (SRM) 1.3featuring several enhancements and new features that dramatically expand your network management capabilities, starting with possibility to create up to five separate networks, each available for mapping even three Wi-Fi SSIDs. One-way firewall rules can be configured independently for each network, limiting bi-directional connectivity with less secure devices, such as IoT equipment, while support for 802.1q simplifies integration into existing networks in the router. AP and mesh configurations.

The 1.8 GHz quad-core processor guarantees high connection speeds and responsive operation, even with multiple devices connected and with all features enabled.
There tri-band technology works together with Smart Connect to optimize device distribution, eliminating bottlenecks in data transmission. Compatibility with the new 5.9 GHz frequency allows you to use non-DFS 80 and 160 MHz channels for combined 6.6 Gbps of wireless throughput, more concurrent connections, and faster VPN server performance.

Synology RT6600ax also allows you to configure profiles with a set of dedicated rules, particularly useful for keeping under control and limiting the actions that can be carried out by children. In addition, the available bandwidth can be distributed among the connected devices, giving priority to a single client or a single application in case of special needs.

SRM also features a suite of tools for remote connectivity for the purpose of accessing intranet-only websites directly from the browser (WebVPN), establish high-performance connections with a dedicated client over various protocols (SSL VPN), connect different workstations for simple sharing of resources on different networks (Site-to-Site VPN) and enable remote operation of devices compatible with the RDP / VNC standard (Remote Desktop).
