New details about Striking Distance Studios’ new sci-fi horror, The Callisto Protocol, are due out next week.

That’s according to Striking Distance Studios CEO Glenn Scofield, who said yesterday that “now might be a good time to start” while keeping an eye on updates from the studio.

So far, the studio has really been playing its cards pretty close to the chest, but yesterday exactly Friday the 13th Schofield teased on his personal Twitter account that we “should see some news next week” before dropping the surprisingly gross image. “If you haven’t already followed @CallistoTheGame, now might be a good time to start,” Schofield said. “Check out some news next week. Until then, here’s a closeup of one of the creatures of our world-class character team. They’re incredible. Happy Friday the 13th! Get ready!”

As Schofield told us in an interview when the horror came to light, the story is set in the distant future on Callisto, Jupiter’s second largest moon, and roughly the size of a planet like Mercury “that’s a good-sized moon.” is!” Glenn said – and is confirmed to be – third person and singles player.

“Well, I’m not sure how much I can say about that,” Schofield told us a year ago after its revelations. “But you know, there’s a lore, and there’s a big story that’s being written now. I want to do another sci-fi horror game. I mean, you know, I love doing sci-fi and I I wanted to do what I wanted to do. So I pitched an idea to them – then we try to recreate this story they’re working on.”

Scofield also recently shared some new concept art from The Callisto Protocol. The CEO of Striking Distance Studios shared what appears to be concept art of an enemy against a grim, dilapidated sci-fi backdrop of broken gangways and torn fences.
