Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness: why doesn’t Namor appear?

That Namor is one of the figures close to entering the Marvel Cinematic Universe is no mystery. In Iron Man 2 (2010), a SHIELD map showed strange activity in the mid-Atlantic ocean monitored by the agency from Fury, where Atlantis is thought to have sank. In Avengers: Endgame (2019) when Okoye mentions an earthquake off the coast of Africa it is a reference to Namor, as admitted by screenwriter Christopher Markus.

It is therefore not surprising that Waldron’s revelation that it was hypothesized to insert Namor in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, using the presence of the Illuminati as a pretext:



“We talked about him for a long time, as he was an original member of the Illuminati, but I think Marvel has other plans for him within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and so we couldn’t make him debut in this movie.”

News regarding Namor’s entry into the Marvel Cinematic Universe see Black Panther: Wakanda Forever as his potential debut in the MCU, where he should be played by Tenoch Huerta. The entry of Namor into the Franchiese could be an opportunity to have a character with a particular character, considered as in the comics the Atlantean was both an opponent of great characters of the House of Ideas and the protagonist of gestures of great heroism.
