Nintendo France has shared brand new gameplay footage for the upcoming Mario Strikers: Battle League, the first Mario Strikers title in the series for 15 years. In fact, this new footage is the first time we’ve seen a full match played in-game.

Next Level Games’ soccer game looks like it will retain the energy and character of previous Mario Strikers games. The match lasts for about six minutes and gives us a glimpse of how things might play out, do we also get to see how the characters walk the pitch and interact with the ball.

Bowser relies on some dirty tricks as he slaps the ball with his hands to score goals for his team. We see that Peach attempts a charged shot before the ball is passed from him. Little Toad is walking around the pitch with his little feet. And it’s almost impossible to miss the splendor as you wander around Waluigi.

While we may see Mario, Luigi, Peach, Todd, Bowser, Waluigi, Yoshi and Rosalina on the pitch for this match, fans are particularly concerned about the smaller roster. So far only ten characters have been confirmed, and the fan favorite Daisy hasn’t been seen in any of the trailers so far, leading to a lot of speculation and concern:

But, as is typical for this series, Mario Strikers: Battle League is bursting with personality. Each character’s traits have been increased to eleven – and even French commentators are actually joining the match! Does that come with the game?
