Brave is rolling out an update to its popular privacy-focused web browser on its iOS app. The new update will bring a “Privacy Hub” with the goal of educating its users about privacy and tracking threats.

Brave Privacy Hub feature allows users to know how much data is being collected

According to a 9to5Mac story, the new Brave iOS app update, Privacy Hub, will show users a summary of how much of their personal data is collected by the websites they visit. This information will be available for users to view immediately to give them an idea of which websites most track or collect their data.

Privacy Hub is included in iOS version 1.38 of Brave which will also add some other privacy and web security features for users on the browser. In Brave’s blog post, Privacy Hub’s new alerts will show users “trackers, fingerprinting attempts, and other nasty things lurking on websites.”

An example of this is how Privacy Hub can show whether a blocked tracker collects user data for advertising purposes. Information collected by the Website may include a User’s personal email address.

According to Brave’s blog post, Privacy Hub will help by first educating users about trackers as well as other privacy threats. This feature highlights trackers and risky pages and connects trackers directly to companies and publishers that are using the data.

Brave to Improve Fingerprint Security for its iOS App

This feature will also show its users how their privacy is frequently being invaded by certain websites. Privacy Hub was announced to be one of several features the new update will bring to Brave’s web browser.

It noted that Brave has also improved its fingerprinting security on its iOS app so that users can be identified by online trackers. To add, web browsers will also add “Randomization for Fingerprintable APIs” to trick some websites.

The Brave browser is free for iOS and can be downloaded from the App Store itself. The browser can also be downloaded on the Brave website if users require Windows, macOS, Linux, and Android versions.

The new privacy feature seeks to help users become more aware of the websites they visit and how much of their personal information they are leaving behind. They will also be able to check the validity of websites and its certificates through Brave Updates.
