OnePlus 10 Pro’s latest update brings May security patch with bug fixes in tow

OxygenOS 12 a.15 build will fix the problem with overexposed HDR photos

OnePlus-10-Pro-review-(2)-1

OnePlus is not exactly known for rolling out new updates to its devices quickly. While Samsung provides monthly and timely security patches for a wide range of its devices, the BBK-owned company promises security updates for its phones only once every two months. While the Korean giant has started rolling out the June security patch for some of its devices, the OnePlus 10 Pro is only getting the May security patch for now.

Since the phone’s launch in late March, OnePlus has released a few software updates that are meant to fix bugs and improve the performance of the fingerprint scanner. The latest OxygenOS 12 a.15 build includes more such improvements and improves overall system stability.

If you were facing issues with the 10 Pro capturing overexposed HDR photos in certain situations, you’ll be happy to know that the latest OxygenOS 12 release addresses it. There are also fixes for two annoying bugs: one that causes music to stutter when the phone is connected to a car’s music system over Bluetooth, and another for noise in audio recordings.

OnePlus has shared the full changelog for the update on the OnePlus Community Forum:

  • system

    • [Improved] system stability.
    • [Fixed] Fixed an issue where music playback would pause when your phone was connected to a Bluetooth car kit.
    • [Fixed] A noise problem that can occur when you record audio.
    • [Updated] 2022.05. Android security patch
  • camera

    • [Optimized] Phone call stability.

At the time of writing, the OTA update is available only for OnePlus 10 Pro units in India with version number NE2211_11.A.15. Initially, the company seeded the A.14 build of the update, but appears to have pulled it back and has now released a new A.15 build.

The latest OxygenOS 12 release is being rolled out in phases, and will be visible only to a small segment of 10 Pro users starting today. A wider rollout should begin in the coming days, with the update eventually making its way to the EU and NA variants as well.
