DTT channels have a great pull among the public and what many users are unaware of is that all these channels can be recorded if we have a Smart TV at home and a flash drive or hard drive with a minimum capacity. come on what programs can be recorded for free to watch at any time.
For the tests I have used a Sony television with Android TV as the operating system and making exclusive use of the options offered by the television and with an old USB flash drive that I have at home, I have managed to enable a system to record all DTT channels for free.
Pulling a flash drive you have at home
The process is very simple and the first thing you should do is go to the “Settings” on the TV with the toothed wheel that appears on the main screen.
Once inside you must look for the section “Watch TV” which is the first in the list that appears on the right of the screen.
Once inside and among all the options you must click on “Recording Device Settings”. Here it is important that you have connected a USB to the USB REC socket of the TV, which is the one with the blue connection. Otherwise, it is most likely that it will not detect the hard drive or pen drive.
Once connected, the system guides you step by step. The first thing is to click on “HDD Log” so that the TV recognizes the device and can record on it.
In this point the system will offer you several warnings and questions on the screen. Are you sure you want to initialize the HDD? Are you sure you want to delete the stored data?
If you agree to format the USB hard drive or pendrive you can continue and the system will initialize the process.
Once finished you can use several methods to record. One of them is through the classic red remote control button with “Rec” symbol.
The other is using the TV guide to make a scheduled recording.
This way you only have choose the program you want to record and start recording.
