The Blue Beetle movie, originally slated as an HBO Max exclusive, then announced for a big screen release in 2023, continues to take shape. Jason Sudeikis, star of Ted Lasso, in the cast of the project based on the DC comics.

The indiscretion comes from the portal The Cosmic Circus which shed new light on its potential role: the actor should in fact play Ted Kord or one of the original Blue Beetlewhich appeared for the first time in 1966. Directed by Angel Manuel Soto, Blue Beetle will in effect be the first Latin superhero film for DC. The theatrical release is set for August 18, 2023.
