Sleek 4-in-1 iPhone Charging Stand Packs a Great Bonus [Review]

The SwitchEasy MagPower 4-in-1 Magnetic Wireless Charging Stand can wirelessly power a MagSafe iPhone while juxtaposing an Apple Watch, AirPods, and more. And it even has a night light as a bonus.

Speaking of bonuses, the product is currently on sale at 20% off.

I have the stand either on my desk or next to my bed for a couple of weeks. Here’s how it holds up in real-world use.

SwitchEasy MagPower 4-in-1 Magnetic Wireless Charging Stand review

I carry all of Apple’s mobile devices — iPhone, AirPods and Apple Watch — and at the end of the day they all need power. But I don’t plug any of them in. I keep them on SwitchEasy’s MagPower stand on my bedside table, and they each start to take power wirelessly. In the morning, I just pick them up and am ready to go.

There’s also a built-in light that points away from your eyes. If I need a little light in the middle of the night, I just tap the base of the accessory.

Or the stand can go on my desk, where it holds my iPhone so I can watch the screen during video calls and still charge all my gear.

The look of the SwitchEasy MagPower 4-in-1 Magnetic Wireless Charging Stand is clearly designed to harmonize with Apple devices. There’s a lot of white plastic and chrome.

It starts with a circular base that measures 5.4 inches across. It has a shallow depression to power the AirPods wireless charging case.

A silver arm extends above the base to hold a MagSafe iPhone charger, behind which is an Apple Watch wireless charger.

Because the phone charger uses MagSafe, an iPhone 12 or iPhone 13 is magnetically attached to it. The connection is solid – I can tap on my handset’s screen without risking it slipping. But a quick stretch and it loosens.

An Apple Watch also sticks magnetically to its charger.

There’s a USB-A port on the back of the accessory that offers up to 5W of capacity. You can plug in other devices here, like an external battery.

Touch an icon on the base and a white night light turns on. The glow comes from the back of the chrome arm, so it points away from your eyes and doesn’t blind in dark rooms. There are three brightness levels.

Decent iPhone Charging Speed

Place your iPhone on the SwitchEasy MagPower 4-in-1 Magnetic Wireless Charging Stand and it’ll draw up to 7.5W of power. It’s not 15W, the maximum possible when charging an Apple handset wirelessly, but it’s fast enough to be useful.

In my testing with the 6.1-inch iPhone 13, the battery level jumped from 23% to 25% in half an hour on stand. The battery level rose by 46% in a full hour.

As for the Apple Watch charger, it provides the same amount of juice as the Apple Watch. You will not see the speed difference.

The base of the SwitchEasy accessory can send 5W of power to the AirPods wireless charging case, about as much as the case can receive. For reference, it raised the battery level in my AirPods 3 case by 41% in half an hour.

There’s more: My tests show that this charging mat can juice up more than just the AirPods. If you want to charge another iPhone, put it on this mat and it will receive 5W. An external battery that supports Qi charging also got power in a similar way.

The best thing I like about SwitchEasy’s stand is that it doesn’t take up much space on my desk or nightstand. Plus, I have a place to store and charge all my mobile devices without the cable clutter. The built-in lamp is also a nice touch.

I wish it supported 15W iPhone charging, though.

price ceiling

The SwitchEasy MagPower 4-in-1 Magnetic Wireless Charging Stand costs $84.99. But if you buy it from the Cult of MAC store before the end of Tuesday, June 21st, you can get 20% off. That’s a savings of $17 off the regular price.
