Starfield | Gameplay and everything you need to know

Starfield is certainly one of the most anticipated video games of next year, an RPG experience that promises to occupy hundreds of hours of our time. After several years of silence, Starfield has finally shown himself in more depth at the Xbox Games Showcase of 2022, which prompted us to make a summary article of all the information released, so as to keep it updated over time with everything there is to know.

The space epic hasn’t started yet, but we can certainly warm up the engines of our ship, ready to explore the stars and unravel the mysteries of the Milky Way.

Starfield, The type of game

Starfield is an open world Action-RPG that promises hundreds of hours of longevity with quests, activities and a main story yet to be discovered.

Starfield, the gameplay

Exploration and combat

In Starfield we could land on different planets, with the possibility of exploring, obtaining resources, discovering alien creatures and fighting against space pirates in different outposts. Between indoors and outdoors, the game will put us in front of a vast open world.

The main component of the fighting remains the ranged weapons, present in large quantities and all modifiable. It will be possible to obtain assault rifle, smart gun, pistols, snipers and shotgun, but the presence of melee weapons is also possible. The whole title is playable in both first person and third person, at our choice.

In addition to this, the dialogues will have a fundamental role to obtain quests, but also to overcome some difficult situations without the use of force. We could choose who we want to be and how to continue the adventure.

Space travel

With our spaceship we could explore deep space, travel between over 100 systems and discover over 1000 planets, all handmade and without any kind of procedurality. The game will allow us to land where we want, fight against space ships or visit space stations, asteroid fields or moons.

The voyage is completely manual and the control of the ship is entirely at our discretion.

Personalization

Starfield will guarantee a very high amount of customization content, taking advantage of features from The Elder Scrolls and Fallout, but taking it to a new level. Here are the various possibilities offered:

  • Full character editor, with the ability to choose gender, size, fitness, complexion, face modification, background and special characteristics.
  • Ability to build outposts on planets, hiring personnel to obtain resources.
  • Complete modification of your own spaceship, from the outside to the inside, with the opportunity to choose the crew.
  • Crafting of armor and weapons to fight enemies.

Starfield, the graphics engine

The graphics engine that drives Starfield is the same one that Bethesda has been using for more than 10 years now, the Creation Engine.

Exit date

Starfield is expected in the first six months of 2023 exclusively for Xbox Series X | S (available for purchase on Amazon) and PCavailable on day one on Xbox Game Pass. Special editions have not yet been announced and the official date has not been announced.
