The Android Auto application disappears from smartphones

The advent of Android Auto and Apple CarPlay it was a real one blessing for the automotive sector which, thanks to a simple mirroring of the screen, allows you to have most of the smartphone applications directly on the car’s infotainment.

However, not all cars have always been compatible and dated or particular models allowed the use of Android Auto only on the smartphone display, only partially limiting the functions. Google had announced it and now, with the latest update, Android Auto is officially disappeared from all smartphones with Android 12 operating system and is no longer downloadable even from the Play Store.

Who does not have a compatible infotainment now how does he do it? Simple, according to Google the most immediate solution is to start the driving mode of the Google Assistant; Introduced last year, the new application operates in a similar way to Android Auto For Phone Screens but is even more convenient thanks to the addition of the voice-controlled Google Assistant. Users can therefore make calls, play music and send messages. However, the decision to eliminate the mobile version of Android Auto was not appreciated by users. The company received a lot of negative feedback from loyal users, and in all sincerity, we are not surprised. Anyone who doesn’t use Google Maps but relies on Waze will have some difficulties now.

Additionally, Google’s new integrated driving experience is currently only available in select regions such as the United States, Canada and Mexico. Some owners of Android smartphones with incompatible infotainment could therefore find themselves in the situation of no longer having a functioning system and probably switch to other more reliable systems.

Those who use Android Auto on their car screens need not worry; Lin-car application does not disappear and still remains available. In this regard, we always remember to consult our guide to find out how transform Android Auto wired in the most practical wireless version.
