Unity Game Services Out of Beta



Unity Gaming Services, which was first announced in October 2021 and allows users to create games more comfortably, has officially completed its beta process.

Feedback was received from a pool of over 54,000 developers in the last six months. These developers assisted the process by using Unity Game Services on more than 6,000 unique game projects that helped Unity reach the end of its beta testing period.

Because every studio, developer, and game is unique, it’s modularly designed to let you study UGS the way you want. You can integrate UGS with any engine you want like Unity, Unreal or Homebrew and use the tools you need. Spend more time on development with a single dashboard with centralized data and SDKs designed for interoperability. Thus, developers can spend more time on the gameplay experience.

Unity Game Services comes out of open beta with a host of new features available to developers old and new. These are as follows;

  • Analytics: Tool that allows developers to review game performance and player behavior data in real time.
  • Authentication: An added feature for developers to add account adding features to their games.
  • Cloud Code: Feature that allows stateless server-side code to be written and deployed without the need for a full version change.
  • Cloud Save: Feature that saves player data and progress and offers cross-platform support.
  • Economy: Feature that allows developers to create a functional in-game economy while also facilitating in-app purchases.
  • Relay: A service that offers multiplayer connection support instead of a dedicated game server.
  • Lobby: Feature that allows players to create public lobbies or invite-only lobbies for friends.
  • Player Interaction: A service that provides interaction between players and content to be presented to players.
