Imagine there’s a lot to see while going out to local stores but you have to visit a website on your phone to cash in on special offers. It can be awkward and fanciful typing a website address into a phone browser, and chances are some people will just give up and move on. Others will tell themselves that they will do this when they come home and then forget everything. This is where the beauty of QR codes comes in handy. Similar to a standard barcode, a person can scan one of these codes with their phone and are automatically taken to a website or other details such as an email address. questions to ask

Can you scan QR code without app?

You need an app to read a QR code, extract the details contained within, and send it to the required part of your phone (usually your browser). However, iOS devices have a built-in code scanner (via Control Center), and Google Chrome provides a code scanner in their phone screen widget.

Can you get malware on your phone via QR code?

Yes, this has been known to happen. Since a QR code often contains a website address URL, anyone sent to that URL can be redirected to a malware file. All you can do is be careful what codes you scan. If you don’t know who created the code, err on the side of caution.
