Apple’s iPhone 14 Pro Dynamic Island isn’t new at all

The biggest aesthetic innovation of the iPhone 14 Pro was a new cutout that Apple calls Dynamic Island. Where incoming calls and text messages, other notifications, and minimized apps are all visible.

Some have claimed that this function is absolutely pointless, but on the other hand, Apple fans are excited about the creative solution and mocking Android makers for not coming up with it quickly.

However, the Android community has experienced something like this before. According to mydrivers, the Honor V20 received a Dynamic Island-like feature in late 2018. At the time, front-facing camera displays were becoming more and more common. Honor has created a feature known as the “Capsule” using a solution with a hole in the top left corner.

When the user uses the front camera during a video conversation, a visual capsule showing the functionality of the camera around it. The capsule also serves as a reminder for the user to look directly into the camera while taking a selfie. It is important to note that the dynamic island cutout of the iPhone 14 Pro offers a lot more features.

The dynamic island cutout has replaced the traditional notch on the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. For features like incoming calls, alarms, notifications, Face ID verification, timer, turn-by-turn navigation, live actions, and more. The pill-shaped cutout can take a variety of forms and sizes, depending on the software.

Remember that the front camera array, which included the camera, dot projector, microphone, speaker, ambient light sensor, proximity sensor, flood illuminator and infrared camera, couldn’t be smaller than it was five years ago. It should be able to handle phone calls, perform Face ID and take great selfies. In 2017 Apple had two choices: adopt the notch or keep a bigger bezel. Due to which the phone will immediately look older than the Samsung model. The OLED display will cost more when it has a notch. But the company, however, adopted the notch and increased the prices. And now updates the notch again with the new dynamic island.
