You are doing it wrong: this is why WhatsApp audio messages are not heard

WhatsApp audios, whether we like it or not, have become one of the most common methods to send messages through this platform, leaving aside writing to write single words that have no place, much less make sense, in a message audio. While text messages can be read anytime, anywhere without disturbing our surroundings, this is not the case with audio messages. Furthermore, if the latter they are not heardwe have a problem, a problem that, depending on which device we use, computer or mobile device, have a similar solution.

The reasons why we cannot listen to WhatsApp audios are mainly reduced to two, we are trying to listen to them both on a PC and on a mobile and the solution is very simple.

Why WhatsApp audios are not heard on the PC

The main reason why WhatsApp audios are not heard on a PC, whether using the WhatsApp Web version or the application available in the Microsoft Store, is that the correct audio output is not selected. If our computer has a monitor that includes speakers and, sometimes, we also use headphones, we must make sure that the audio output of the computer is configured correctly. If we want to hear the audio through the monitor speakers, we must select the sound output on the monitor. To do so, we just have to click on the speaker icon located to the right of the time, on the taskbar, and select the one we want to use.

If the audio output is selected correctly, the other reason why WhatsApp audios are not heard is because the sound is muted. If so, the icon that represents the volume and that is located on the right side of the taskbar will show an X. To reactivate the sound, we just have to click on the speaker again.

I do not listen to the WhatsApp audios on the mobile

Regarding the problems with the WhatsApp audio on the mobile, the first thing we should check is if the volume of our device is too low or if the device is directly silenced. To get rid of doubts, we just have to click on the volume up button and keep it pressed to increase it to the maximum and deactivate the device’s silent state.

Another cause that does not allow us to listen to WhatsApp audios is that our wireless headphones, are connected to the device, so all sounds will be played through them and not through the speaker of our device. This problem is more common than you might think, especially when it comes to cheap headphones that, when placed in the container case to charge them, do not make good contact and remain connected. Both iOS and Android show a headphone icon at the top to show us if a headphone, both wired and wireless, is connected.
