Tomorrow God of War Ragnarok will go to Polish players, but it turns out that not all interested parties will receive the title with a full Polish localization. We investigated the case on PlayStation Polska and received a specific answer.
At 12:00, we presented the Polish version of God of War Ragnarok on our website. Our editorial office has received a code from PlayStation Poland and in the menu I can easily change the dubbing to English or Russian – just download an additional location.
However, we were contacted by a friendly store that has already received physical versions of God of War Ragnarok for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 – although the package has the inscription “Premier Edition” and the badge “The game in the Polish language version”, the title does not include the Polish localization.
“God of War Ragnarok from the Polish distribution (PPSA08330 / Barcode: 711719413592) for the PS5 version and (CUSA34386 / Barcode: 711719411796) for the PS4 version has no Polish dubbing. The subtitles are Polish (and all others, including Japanese), but the audio tracks are only available in English, German, French and Italian. Everything indicates that Sony has confused the versions for our market, because from the PlayStation Store analysis we should get the PPSA08332 versions for PS5 and CUSA34390 for PS4, where the subtitles would also be all, but the soundtracks would be three: Polish, English and Russian. Even the view of PlayStation Store New Zealand, where the premiere was already made and the languages given, indicates that the version numbers that we have in the Polish boxed version do not have Polish dubbing ”.
The seller hoped that the problem would be resolved by the premiere update that landed on the PlayStation servers today, but unfortunately – there is still an option to choose only English, German, Italian or French dubbing.
We contacted PlayStation Polska, who says that all versions of God of War Ragnarok from Polish distribution must have Polish localization. As you know, some of the smaller stores import games from, among others, the Czech Republic – thanks to this, they can buy items cheaper.
Here, however, there is a problem, because the seller showed us a Polish box and even mentioned the possibility of presenting an invoice that would confirm that he had bought the game from Polish distribution.
We are still investigating the matter and will provide details if we receive positive news.
