Elden Ring exploit sends PC players to a circle of infinite death

As shown in a video of EldenRingUpdate on TwitterThe obvious hack is when an attacker activates a specific ability, causing some sort of glitch that causes the host’s game to crash. When the player tries to open the game, they find that their character is repeatedly falling to their death.

A user on Reddit suggests a possible solution, but it doesn’t work 100 percent of the time. You can try to quit the game using Alt+F4 just before your character dies, which is going to give you a bit more time during your next login. When you reopen the game, quickly open the map and taunt Grace’s site. If you don’t manage to get to Grace’s site fast enough, the death cycle will start all over again. One user on Reddit reported losing 100 hours of gameplay, having tried the workaround with no luck.

FromSoftware and Bandai Namco have yet to comment on the situation, but we will update this article if we get any new information. For now, it’s probably best to back up your saved files and play offline, as that’s the only way to avoid attacks.

Earlier this year, a feat in dark Souls – Another title from FromSoftware and Bandai Namco – left PC players vulnerable to dangerous remote code execution attacks. At the time, players were concerned that the issue might affect the not-yet-released elden ring, dark Souls PC servers have been shut down since February so that developers can fix the problem.
