The Wolf School is left behind.
Last Monday we had an announcement that very few expectedsince, against all odds, with Cyberpunk 2077 still in the process of releasing its final updates, among many other points, CD Projekt RED showed a new installment of The Witcher, this being cataloged as a new beginning in the saga.
It must be said that much has been said about this new title, since, far from wanting to put a number behind it, it has been announced that it is not The Witcher 4. This has been known through one of the directors of the study, who has even denied that the title will be exclusive to any platform.
The latter is due to the fact that together with the announcement of the development, it was said that the title was being developed with Unreal Engine 5, the well-known Epic Games engine. And how could it be otherwise, speculation indicated that it would be an exclusive title of its digital platform.
The Lynx School could have the main role in the new title of The Witcher
Having said all this, the most striking thing is found in the image that has been revealed, since many have realized that the pendant we see half buried in the snow does not belong to Geralt of Rivia, protagonist of the saga of novels and video games. Not even any of his classmates, since they belong to the Wolf School.
Under this premise, from Eurogamer this fact has been questioned to the development team, who have confirmed that the pendant belongs to the Lynx Schoolthis being an entity that has not been heard of in video games or in books or in the Netflix series starring Henry Cavill.
It is precisely for this reason that it is already theorized with the idea that This New Witcher Game Could Be Set In Another Time even before the events of the books, showing us a School of Sorcerers prior to Geralt’s and, therefore, in which the extinction of the Sorcerers is not seen.
On the other hand, another theory suggests that, after the end of the third installment, a new school of Witches would be created with this same symbol, although the latter is somewhat more complicated to predict if we take into account that The Witcher 3 has too many alternate endings, without any of them being truly canonical. We will have to see what the final result is
