Russia is being ridiculed. The undercover agent was to prepare three SIM cards, instead obtaining three copies of the Sims game

Russia is again laughing at the whole world. The local Federal Security Service (FSB) allegedly thwarted the assassination aimed at one of the Russian journalists, Vladimir Solovyov. The President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, came up with the report on Monday.

Putin accused the Ukrainian security service of ordering the assassination, but it strongly denied the allegations. He subsequently blamed the West.

At first glance, the situation may seem very serious, but all indications are that Russia only staged the assassination and wanted to use it as propaganda.

Russia’s whole plan failed in one funny pettiness. Russian State Press Agency, RIA Novosti, on Telegram released a video intercepting the FSB’s intervention against the alleged assassin. In one part, the camera focused on objects that the agents said found in his apartment. Among them you can find Ukrainian passports, green wigs, T-shirts with a swastika and photographs by Adolf Hitler. In addition, drugs and weapons have reportedly been found, he writes Business Insider.

An assassin with a passion for building houses

But there was something on the bed that obviously didn’t belong there – three copies of the popular game The Sims 3. Journalists and the Internet community immediately began speculating that the alleged assassin had mistaken The Sims 3 for SIM cards, which are necessary to make calls or connect to mobile data. This was exactly the moment when the whole plan of the Russian Federation collapsed like a house of cards.

Francis Scarr, BBC Monitoring journalist, marked games as part of “Ukrainian neo-Nazi starter pack”. He added: “Who would have thought he’s so drunk on The Sims 3?”

Eliot Higgins, an investigative journalist from Bellingcat, also criticized the FSB’s intervention. “I sincerely believe that this is just a stupid FSB officer who was told to get 3 SIM cards.”

And that’s still not the whole story. Political scientist Sergei Sumlenny has noticed that the link left by the assassins contains a “vague signature”. Yes, exactly what is between the quotes.

So what happened? It appears that the incomprehensible FSB officer obtained three copies of The Sims 3 instead of three SIM cards. In addition, he was apparently ordered to leave behind a message with an unclear signature. Again, however, the agent did not fully understand the assignment and left exactly those two words on paper.
