Android 13 beta 2: more privacy, multi-device improvements and all the news of the new version

The latest version of Google’s mobile operating system, Android 13, is moving along nicely. We already attended the presentation, the arrival of the preview versions for developers and the first beta, and now it’s turn for the second beta. A version that is still testing, despite the fact that some errors of the first one are corrected and improvements continue to be introduced.

Following the tradition of the sector in this type of launch, on board the second beta of Android 13 we find the characteristics of the first, some bug fixes and, now, some new features that pave the way until the final release of the system. we tell you what’s new on the Android 13 train in this Beta Number 2.

More control, more privacy, more security

Google continues to advance with the different betas of Android 13, and in this second edition we have improvements related to control over the system itself and what we do with our content. For example, with the second beta comes ‘Photo Picker’. A new function with which we can share certain photos from our albums with our contacts without having to give access to the entire album. More privacy and more control over it.

The settings also change in regards to security and privacy, as Google creates a new page within the settings to control these permissions more thoroughly. In addition, new languages are added to the system itself so that they can be used by the different apps. A more useful function at the development level but that will result in a more user-friendly use of them.

Personalization is also important in Android 13 and that is why they are introduced improvements to ‘Material You Theming’. Year new color variants are added and customization support goes beyond the icons of Google apps themselves. This is a function that will be adopted natively in the Pixels and that will be offered to other manufacturers to integrate it into their layers. It will depend on each one whether to do it or not, and when.

Android 13 will also bring enhancements for large screen devices. Google states that “it will update more than 20 of its applications to take advantage of the best interface adapted to tablets”. The system thus follows the path started with Android 12L to make it native in the new system. Android 13 also incorporates the manual exchange between different audio devices. This way we can transfer the music from one to another without losing playback.

And yes, we finally have here the ‘copy and paste’ with multi-device function. We are talking about being able to copy on Android 13 and paste directly on Chrome OS, for example, or vice versa. A shared clipboard between all our devices and that will allow the data copied from one to another to travel through our Google account.
