Although its last installment left a bad taste in the mouth and the graphic engine of its main titles has become an Internet meme, Bethesda’s Fallout saga is one of the most beloved by gamers. This series of post-apocalyptic role-playing video games is turning 25 years old and, to celebrate it, the Android community has created an application that allows you to play its first two installments On your phone or tablet.
The app in question, which for these purposes we could call “launcher”, is “fo2.exe” and has been published in the Google Play Store by the developer 360deg. It makes it possible play the versions of Fallout 1 and Fallout 2 from the GOG store on Android with easy-to-use touch controls. Next, we explain in detail how this launcher works and what you need to play the first Fallout games on your Android with this method.
Fo2.exe: so you can use this launcher to play Fallout 1 and 2 on Android
To begin with, let’s clarify that fo2.exe is simply an Android launcher for the GOG store versions of Fallout 1 and Fallout 2. That means that this app does not include any of the two games. You have to have them in your GOG account to be able to play them on Android. If you don’t have them, then you must buy them in the store (they are worth 10 euros each, although with offers they can be found cheaper).
That said, once you have Fallout 1 or Fallout 2 on GOG, you can play them on Android this way:
- Install fo2.exe from Google Play on your Android mobile or tablet.
- Install Fallout 1 or 2 on your PC from the GOG launcher.
- copy the folder installation of the game on your Android device.
- Open fo2.exe on Android and follow the installation instructions.
That is all! Some users say that it is not at all necessary to buy it from GOG because also works with versions of games downloaded from Steam. We ourselves could not verify it, but we tell you about it as something to take into account. By the way, with this Android launcher it is not yet possible to use mods, although the developer is already working on it.
