With the advent of Windows 11, Microsoft changed its development plans from two updates per year, as it did during the life of Windows 10, to just one feature update per year. This will allow much more debugging of updates and will cause less inconvenience for users when updating the PC. However, does it also mean that the news will take much longer to arrive? No, since Microsoft has hidden an ace up its sleeve with a name Moment.
Moment is the name that Microsoft has decided to give to these small feature sub-updates which it intends to release every few months. Thanks to them, the company wants users to gradually receive the news and new features of the system little by little instead of having to wait a whole year to receive them all in one big feature update that will almost certainly go wrong (just like many went wrong in Windows 10).
Although at the moment there is not much official information about this new update, internal Microsoft sources have revealed that its launch could be much closer than we think. And, in just a few weeks, we could receive a series of very interesting new features and improvements in our Windows 11. Let’s go see them.
News coming to Windows 11 22H2 Moment 2
Unlike Moment 1, which hardly brought any news, Moment 2 yes that is going to be a big and important update. Microsoft has been preparing all kinds of improvements, news and new features to continue improving its operating system little by little.
The first of the novelties that we will find in this update is a new tares bar Optimized for tablets and touch screens. This novelty has been highly requested by users for a long time and, finally, it has come true. A new drop-down panel is also included that we can configure from the configuration panel and, finally, we can even drag and drop the elements of this panel to order them to our liking.
Another very interesting novelty comes to the Task Manager, which we open by using the keyboard shortcut Control + Shift + Escape. Starting with Moment 2, we will finally be able to have a search engine, at the top, that will allow us to locate any open process in seconds.
Other novelties that will arrive with this new update are:
- Power recommendations.
- New tabs to notepad.
- A new full screen widget panel.
- Voice Access improvements.
- Support for third-party widgets, for example, from Facebook.
- Possibility to record the screen with the Snipping tool.
When it reaches?
According to internal Microsoft sources, this update will reach all users in a few weeks. In other words, it is expected that we will receive it between mid-April and mid-May, with an exact date yet to be confirmed. Regarding the requirements to be able to install this new version of Windows, nothing special, we just have to make sure that we have installed Windows 11 22H2 and meet the general requirements of Windows 11. Thus, as soon as the new version of Windows is available, we can install it.
