Simyo finally confirms when it will activate VoLTE and VoWiFi calls

If a few days ago we learned that Vodafone was activating VoLTE calls in Lowi and Finetwork, today it is Orange Spain who has announced its arrival in Simyo. And be careful, because those VoLTE calls won’t come alonebut the operator will also enable VoWiFi calls.

It will be in just over a month when Simyo customers will finally be able to use the 4G network or any Wi-Fi network to make their calls. Both improvements will be activated progressively for everyone and free of charge.

For contract and prepaid customers

Simyo has just announced two important improvements that are coming at the end of November: VoLTE and VoWiFi service. This means that in just over a month, Simyo customers will be able to use both the 4G network and any WiFi network to which they are connected.

VoLTE allows you to talk to high definition voice and reduces the establishment time of the calls. VoWiFi, for its part, improves mobile voice coverage within the home, since, if the customer is connected to a WiFi network, they will be able to make and receive calls through that network.

Furthermore, in this way also less battery is consumedand if the client disconnects from that WiFi network while making a VoWiFi call, it will automatically switch to VoLTE without interrupting communication (and vice versa).

Simyo’s VoLTE / VoWiFi service will be progressively enabled for contract and prepaid customers. If this is your case, keep in mind, however, that you will need to have a mobile phone compatible with these services, as well as a SIM card compatible with 4G and WiFi or 4G coverage depending on the option you want to use. Additionally, you will have to activate that option in your phone’s settings.

As we mentioned at the beginning, activation of both improvements is free. The cost of calls made via WiFi or LTE is the same as normal calls. Therefore, if you have a bonus for unlimited minutes or calls, it will be included in your rate; If you don’t have any bonus, will be invoiced at the same price of normal calls.
