Samsung’s next Galaxy XCover Pro makes an early Google Play Console appearance

It’s been a while now that Samsung has offered a sturdier Active version of its flagship Galaxy S phone, but if the average modern smartphone is too underpowered to indulge in your adventures, the company has still offered you a slew of heavy-duty devices. The Xcover lineup is covered with . Last year brought us the Galaxy XCover 5, and recently evidence has been accumulating pointing to a sequel to the 2020 Galaxy XCover Pro. At least, that’s where the mark has been leading so far, but a new Google Play Console listing suggests this hardware could be coming under a different name.

The product name displayed here is “xcoverpro2sq” in line with earlier expectations, but the marketing name attached to the listing is Galaxy XCover6 Pro, which honestly seems more appropriate as it provides a better sense of continuity. Finally adding that Pro branding may raise a few eyebrows, but things start to make sense when you take a look at the device’s impressive list of specs well, at least for a rugged phone.
